About this tool
What is a YouTube channel ID?
Every YouTube channel has a permanent ID: 24 characters that always start with UC, such as UCBR8-60-B28hp2BmDPdntcQ. A channel's name, @handle and custom URL can all change, but the channel ID never does. That's why most tools, integrations and partner forms ask for it.
Every ID and link in one place
- Channel ID (UC…): the permanent identifier
- Handle (@name) and handle URL: the short address shown on the channel page
- Channel URL: youtube.com/channel/ followed by the ID, which keeps working forever
- Custom URL and legacy username: older /c/ and /user/ addresses that some channels still have
- Uploads playlist ID (UU…): the channel ID with UC swapped for UU, listing every public upload
- RSS feed: the channel's latest videos for any feed reader
How to find a channel ID yourself
For your own channel, open the advanced settings at youtube.com/account_advanced while signed in. For someone else's channel, open the channel page, open the About panel under the channel description, choose Share channel and then Copy channel ID.
Older guides suggest searching the page source for "channelId". That still works but takes a while. Pasting any channel or video link into the box above is quicker, and you also get the uploads playlist and RSS feed.
Where you'll use it
- RSS readers and automation tools that watch for new uploads
- Analytics dashboards and browser extensions
- Google Ads placement lists and brand-safety tools
- Sponsorship, partner and network application forms
- Playlist links and embeds built from the uploads playlist
